Mobile phones penetrate third world countries
In the Danish newspaper “Politiken” I have just seen an article on the spread of mobile phone technologies in Uganda. Their success is due to the fact that it is much cheaper to establish a mobile network than to dig cables into the ground.
I saw the technology used five years ago on a remote island in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. The locals were excited about getting hooked up to the rest of the world. I just hoped that it would not spoil their traditionel lifestyle.
